Robinson Named OVC Freshman of the Week Six Times

Tennessee State University guard Gerald Robinson, Jr. was named to the Mid-Major All-Freshman Honorable Mention Team by (CHN).

Robinson, a 6-0, 185 product of Martin Luther King High School in Nashville, Tennessee, finished the 2007-08 season as the Tigers second leading scorer (15.2 ppg) and helped lead the Big Blue to a 15-17 season. Fifteen wins is the most for a TSU men’s basketball team since the 1995-96 season.

Robinson started 31 of the Tigers 32 games and he won or shared Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors six times during the season. On the season, he had season and career highs in scoring - 31 points (Southeast Missouri State -12/06/07), rebounds - 11 (Samford – 1/31/08), assists, 4 (Belmont – 12/17/07) and three-pointers - five (of 12) against Georgia Tech (11/11/7). In the Georgia Tech game, just his second collegiate game, Robinson scored 24 points.. Mid-Major All-Freshman Team
