TIGERS' BRUCE PRICE WITHDRAWS FROM NBA DRAFT
Tennessee State University basketball guard Bruce Price (6-3, 205) has withdrawn his name from the National Basketball Association's 2007 Draft. "Bruce filed the proper paperwork to withdraw from the draft with the NBA," said Big Blue head basketball coach Cy Alexander. "We received a communication from the NBA affirming that Bruce's name has been officially withdrawn." Alexander concluded, saying, "Bruce never hired an agent, so he will be eligible to return to play for TSU this upcoming season." Beginning his junior season (2005-06), Price averaged 19.3 ppg during the first six games before suffering an ACL injury playing at Ohio State University. He subsequently received an NCAA medical hardship waiver for that season. Bruce re-injured the same knee prior to the 2006-07 season and did not play. Due to the circumstances of the second injury the TSU athletic department filed for, and received, an additional hardship waiver from the NCAA. Price will return to play with the Tigers in 2007-08 as a junior.
