--- Clarence Matthews notches sixth double-double of the season in loss -- NASHVILLE, Tennessee-The Tigers dropped a hard fought contest 62-53 to Austin Peay State University in front of 6,118 at the Gentry Center on Saturday evening. Tennessee State falls to 10-14 and 6-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while APSU improved to 15-7 and remained atop the OVC at 12-2. After trailing most of the game Clarence Matthews converted the free-throw of a three-point play to tie the game at 49 with 4:59 remaining in the game. But Austin Peay would convert 11-of-14 free-throws down the stretch to outscore the Tigers 13-4 for the victory. Matthews led the Big Blue with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Andrae Belton added 11 points, while Reiley Ervin and Ladarious Weaver notched 10 points a piece. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, February 6th as they take on UT-Martin in the Gentry Center at 6 p.m. The game will be televised live nationwide on ESPNU-TV.
