NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's basketball team will host Carson-Newman University in the Tigers' first exhibition contest on Tuesday night. The game has a tip off time of 7 p.m. in the Gentry Center. TSU will begin its third season under head coach Cy Alexander in 2005-06. This season, the Tigers return several key performers including seniors Wayne Arnold and Kareem Grant. Junior Bruce Price is a third-year player in the program as is forward Courtney Bohannon. Andrae Belton and Reiley Ervin are sophomore guards for the Tigers. The Tigers game against the Eagles will be the first of two exhibitions against collegiate teams this fall. The Tigers will later play Trevecca University. Carson Newman is led by veteran college Dale Clayton, who begins his 18th season and the Jefferson City, Tenn., school. Clayton was one-time assistant coach at Vanderbilt. The Eagles feature nine first-year players and were 12-16 last season.
