WAYNE ARNOLD NAMED OVC NEWCOMER OF THEWEEK FOR HIS PLAY IN TWO TIGER VICTORIES

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State junior guard Wayne Arnold is the latest Tiger to receive an honor from the Ohio Valley Conference this season with his selection as OVC Newcomer of the Week. The 6-4, 190-pound Arnold tallied a career-high 22 points in TSU's 75-63 win over Eastern Kentucky and followed with 14 points in a 100-65 win over Morehead State. Arnold was 6-of10 in field goal shooting, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Against Morehead State, Arnold was one of TSU players in double digits. He converted 5-of-9 field goals, 3-of-6 coming from long range. In addition to his scoring, Arnold had six assists, nine rebounds, two steals, and a blocked shot in 53 minutes of action. Arnold joins teammate and senior center Rod Flowers, who has won the award four times this season, as TSU players who have received the Newcomer of the Week honors. The conference office selects the player, newcomer, and freshman of the week each Monday afternoon during the course of the season.
