TIGERS LOSE DOWN STRETCH TO MSU'S OUTSIDE SHOOTING
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State stayed close but visiting Murray State hit key 3-pointers down the stretch to edge the Tigers, 84-78 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The main culprit for Murray State was Chris Shumate who connected on four 3-pointers in the final four minutes, including three straight that quickly erased a 70-68 TSU lead. The Tigers were down 81-78 with 51 seconds left, but Shumate sealed the game with a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left. Garrett Richardson led TSU with 21 points while Bruce Price added 20. Roshaun Bowens had 11 and Adrian Pritchett came off the bench to score 10. Shumate led all scorers with 23 points while Kelvin Brown added 22 for the Racers (15-3, 5-1). TSU (4-13, 3-3) hosts Austin Peay Thursday night.
