NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State freshman basketball player Bruce Price has been named Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office has announced. Price was cited for the award in the final weekly honors announced for the 2003 portion of the season. After missing the team's Dec. 17 game at Wyoming with a strained lower back, Price came back with a career-high 29-point performance at Colorado. He connected on six 3-pointers as part of a 56.2 percent shooting effort, and went 5-of-8 from the charity stripe in the contest against the Buffaloes. Price also hauled in five rebounds. A native of Minneapolis, Price earlier won the ward for his play in the first week of his collegiate career. For the season, Price is currently averages 15.4 ppg and 3.7 assists a game. The Tigers resume play Dec. 30 with a home contest against Portland State. OVC play opens Jan. 8 with a home game against league newcomer Jacksonville State as part of a doubleheader with the women's team.
