CHATTANOOGA --- Tennessee State held a halftime advantage over Chattanooga for the second time in as many meetings this season, only to see the Mocs rally in the second half for a victory, this time 74-70 Monday night in the McKenzie Arena. The Tigers led 41-34 at intermission, but cut into the Tiger margin and took the lead for good on a Mindaugas Katelnas layup under the 10-minute mark. The Mocs would build as much as nine-point lead but TSU cut the deficit to one point twice down the stretch, the last time with 12 seconds left on a Roshaun Bowens layup. The Mocs iced the game by making three of four free throws the rest of the way. Garrett Richardson led TSU with 21 points, 19 coming in the first half. Bowens finished with 18 points and Bruce Price scored 15. Jason Rogan led the Mocs (6-4) with 23 points and Ashley Champion added 19. The game ended a six-game road swing for the Tigers. TSU hosts Portland State December 30.
