TIGERS FALL LATE TO FISK'S FREE THROW SHOOTING
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State could not convert from the free throw line down the stretch while visiting Fisk did to lead the way to the Bulldogs 65-63 comeback victory over the Tigers Thursday night. TSU led 32-21 at halftime and held a 56-48 advantage with 4:27 remaining. However, Fisk made an 8-0 run to tie the game at 56-56 with 1:34 left. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the night on a pair of free throws by Frank Dotson with 47 seconds left to make the score 59-58. Fisk converted 6-0f-8 free throws the remainder of the way. Roshaun Bowens hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left to pull TSU to within one point at 64-63, but Marquis Patton made one of two free throws with three seconds left and TSU was unable to get a shot off as the buzzer sounded. Tennessee State was 13-of-28 from the free throw line while Fisk finished 14-of-19, including 13-of-17 in the second half. Bowens led TSU with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Garrett Richardson added 11. Bruce Price and Adrian Pritchett scored 10 each. Fisk was led by Devon Wilson with 18 while Dotson finished with 16. Tennessee State plays at Georgia Tech on Saturday.
