TIGERS FALL DOWN STRETCH TO HOT-SHOOTING MOCS

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State saw visiting Chattanooga shoot a blistering 76 percent from the field in the second half to overcome TSU's own solid shooting performance to hand the Tigers a 93-86 defeat Monday night. The Tigers shot 58 percent from the floor, but it wasn't enough to hold back the Mocs of the Southern Conference. TSU had led 42-28, but UTC missed just six shots from the floor, connecting on 19-of-25, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Roshaun Bowens scored a career-high 31 points for TSU, making 12-of-13 shots from the field. Bruce Price added 24. Jason Rogan scored 28 points and Alphonso Pugh 24 for the Mocs who improved to 4-1 on the season. Tennessee State hosts Fisk Thursday at 7 p.m.
