NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State Tigers return home to host Southern Conference power Chattanooga in the Gentry Center Monday night. Game time is 7 p.m. as the teams renew their series. The Tigers battled the Tennessee Vols on Friday night, but the hosts were able to pull away by scoring the game's final 17 points over the final 4:31 to take an 81-56 win. Tiger coach Cy Alexander was pleased with the way his team battled back from a slow start. Senior guard Garrett Richardson tallied 18 points to lead TSU in scoring. Roshaun Bowens scored 10 points before fouling out near the five-minute mark. Freshman guard Bruce Price, who had been questionable with a shoulder injury sustained in the Trevecca game, was in the lineup and saw 31 minutes of action. The Tigers will be going against a Mocs team that is again expected to contend for the Southern Conference title. Chattanooga is off to a 3-1 start and has reeled off three straight wins since opening the season with a 90-76 loss at nationally-ranked Kansas. TSU and Chattanooga will meet for the first time in seven seasons. The Tigers trail the series 18-13.
