TIGERS BREAK AWAY FROM HALFTIME TIE TO POST SECOND EXHIBTION WIN
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State made a 24-6 run over the first eight minutes of the second half to break away from a 40-40 halftime deficit to lead the way to a 90-68 victory over VASDA USA Tuesday night in men's exhibition play. Freshman Bruce Price led TSU with 26 points as the Tigers placed five players in double figures. Roshaun Bowens added 17 points and 12 rebounds. Garrett Richardson scored 14 points and led TSU with seven assists. Cedric Bryson added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. "We addressed our lack of defensive effort in the first half at halftime," said TSU head coach Cy Alexander. "I was pleased with the way our effort and energy level picked up in the second half." The Tigers held VASDA to seven second-half field goals. TSU held a 45-34 rebounding edge. VASDA was led by Thad Key's 17 points. The Tigers complete their exhibition season with a 2-0 record and open the regular season Nov. 25 against Trevecca.
