NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State freshman basketball player Bruce Price has garnered his second straight Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Week honor and received the award for the sixth time overall this season. The announcement comes late Monday from the OVC office in Brentwood. Price averaged 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists as the Tigers continued their quest for a berth in the OVC Tournament by splitting two road games last week. The Minneapolis, Minn. product grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and scored nine points in a loss at Murray State last Thursday. He came back with a 31-point performance, connecting on six 3-pointers in the Tigers' big 71-72 victory at Tennessee-Martin on Saturday. The 31-point performance was the second highest of Price's brief collegiate career. He tallied 38 points in his first OVC game against Jacksonville State in early January. With the win at UT Martin, the Tigers registered their sixth win in conference play and now stand in a sixth-place tie heading into the final regular season games this week at Samford and Jacksonville State.
