MARTIN, Tenn. --- Tennessee State freshman Bruce Price scored 31 points to lead the Tigers to an important 81-72 Ohio Valley Conference road victory over host Tennessee-Martin. The Tigers notched their third straight win and move to 6-8 in the OVC and 7-18 overall. UT Martin falls to 8-18 and 3-11. "Anytime you can get a conference road win it is big," said first-year head coach Cy Alexander. "For us this is particularly important in our situation. It was a determined team effort." Price connected on six 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the opening half as TSU held a 41-39 advantage. Tiger senior Garrett Richardson added 18 points and Brandon Lockridge scored 10. Tiger junior Roshaun Bowens was plagued by foul trouble in the first half and finished with six points, but had a team-high eight rebounds. "We came out focused and this game is big as we work toward a berth in the tournament," said Richardson. UTM was led by Jared Newson with 26 points. TSU plays at Samford on Thursday. UTM hosts Eastern Illinois on Thursday.
