TIGERS SEE MURRAY STATE TAKE WIN
MURRAY, Ky. --- Host Murray State used the 3-point shooting of Rick Jones off the bench in the first half on the way to taking an 88-72 Ohio Valley Conference victory over Tennessee State Thursday night. Jones hit six of his seven 3-pointers in the first half as the Racers built a 47-37 halftime advantage. MSU was able to protect its advantage throughout the second half. The Tigers were able to cut the deficit to single digits, the last time at 69-60 with 6:50 remaining. Roshaun Bowens led the Tigers (6-18, 5-8) with 23 points and was the lone TSU player in double figures. Bruce Price had nine points and 11 rebounds. Jones finished with 26 points. Cuthbert Victor had 18 points and 12 rebounds. TSU plays at Tennessee-Martin Saturday night.
