Rowland Named as FCS ADA Top Wide Receiver

NASHVILLE --- Chris Rowland has been selected as the FCS Athletic Directors Association (FCS ADA) Top Wide Receiver. The 11-player “team” is voted on by a national panel representing the 13 different FCS leagues. The squad consists of the top player from each position (quarterback, running back, offensive line, tight end, wide receiver, kicker, defensive line, linebacker, defensive back and punter).

Rowland set single season records at Tennessee State with 104 receptions and 1,437 yards. The senior finished with eight touchdown receptions, including a 96 yarder at FBS opponent Middle Tennessee. Rowland totaled 68 points off 11 touchdowns and a two-point conversion. The wide out was the only player in NCAA D-1 and D-II to register a touchdown via receiving, rushing, punt return and kickoff return.

Rowland ended the regular season leading the nation in receiving yards and receiving yards per game. He also finished third in receptions per game.
