NASHVILLE --- Antonio Zita has been named to the HERO Sports Sophomore All-America Team. Zita earned a spot as an Honorable Mention selection.
Zita set a Tennessee State record with 20 field goals this season, which also tied for fifth in Ohio Valley Conference history. The 20 field goals was the third largest amount in FCS play.
Zita led the OVC and posted the sixth best percentage in the nation at 83.3 and led all sophomores in the category. His 1.67 FGs per game led the OVC, tied for sixth in FCS and was the second highest by a sophomore.
The Fayetteville, Tenn. native scored 90 points on the season, finishing second in the OVC by one point. Zita averaged 7.5 points per game, ranking 36th in FCS; sixth by a sophomore. He ranked 14th in kickers only, 3rd in sophomore kickers.
Zita’s season long was a 50 yarder in a 26-24 homecoming win over Austin Peay. The distance is the sixth longest by a sophomore this season.
