NASHVILLE --- Chris Rowland received yet another honor for his 2019 season as he was announced to the first team of the HERO Sports All-America Team. Rowland earned a spot as a First Team selection as an all-purpose player.
The senior was one of the top wide receivers in the nation after leading all FCS players in receiving yards and receiving yards per game. He was also one of the top return specialists and finished his season as one of only two players in FCS play to return a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown. Rowland finished the year ranked second in the nation in all-purpose yards per game and third in receptions per game (8.7).
Rowland has been honored as the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year, OVC First Team – Wide Receiver, OVC First Team – Return Specialist, BOXTOROW First Team All-America and finished sixth for the Walter Payton Award. He finished higher than any other receiver.
The Nolensville, Tenn. product has also accepted a spot in the NFLPA game and is one of four finalists for the Black College Football Deacon Jones Player of the Year Award.
