NASHVILLE --- Chris Rowland was named Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week honors for his efforts in the Southern Heritage Classic versus Jackson State.
Rowland finished the Southern Heritage Classic with 267 all purpose yards, including two kickoff returns for 124 yards. The senior returned a kickoff 96 yards 25 seconds into the contest versus Jackson State to even the score at 7-7. Rowland leads the nation in all purpose yards (234.3 per game) and is one of 11 FCS players to return a kickoff for a touchdown so far this season.
Rowland has been honored in back-to-back weeks after a Co-Player of the Week award last week. It also marks the third consecutive week a Tiger has won an OVC honor and the second Specialist award. Antonio Zita earned the specialist honor in week one.
