NASHVILLE --- Treon Harris and Lane Clark received adidas Ohio Valley Conference honors for their performance versus Florida A&M at the Tampa Classic. Harris was named Newcomer of the week, while Clark earned Specialist of the Week honors.
Harris recorded his best passing performance as a Tiger as he went 14-of-18 for 211 yards and two touchdowns in just three quarters of action. Harris also averaged 4.6 yards per carry as he rushed for 37 yards on eight carries. The junior transfer engineered the Tiger offense to 514 total yards as TSU improved to 3-0 on the season. Harris teamed with Steven Newbold and Patrick Smith for touchdowns in the 24-13 victory over Florida A&M.
Clark kicked a 49-yard field goal in his only attempt and finished 3-for-3 in extra points. The field goal was the ninth longest in TSU history. Clark now owns seven of the top 10 distances in school history. The senior became just the third kicker at TSU to surpass the 200 point mark, joining Jamin Godfrey (2010-13) who scored 311 points and Erik Benson (2005-08) who finished his career with 232. Clark shared the award with Tennessee Tech’s Nick Madonia.
The award is the first OVC honor for Harris. Clark earned his first of the season and the third of his career.
