My TSU Experience: Chris Sanders-McCollum

Chris Sanders-McCollum completed a four-year career as a member of the Big Blue. The Fairburn, Ga. native played in 41 games at wide receiver. Sanders-McCollum hauled in 56 receptions for 707 yards and eight touchdowns while a Tiger. He highlighted his career with a 64-yard touchdown catch versus Jackson State at the Southern Heritage Classic (9/12/15) as a junior.

Sanders-McCollum will graduate from TSU in August with a degree in Psychology.

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.
A: I enjoyed it. It had its ups and downs but it’s a blessing to have attended TSU.

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?
A: I love the people and the many different experiences TSU put me through.

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: The family atmosphere.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: Scoring my first touchdown.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?
A: Going to FCA camp in Crossville, TN

TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?
A: Yes, my mother.

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Stay consistent and strive to be your best no matter what.

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Biology

TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor?
A: Dr. Pangle

TSUTigers: Who has been the most influential person to you at TSU?
A: Dr. Pangle

TSUTigers: What’s next for you?
A: I want to pursue a career in the NFL and be a school counselor.

TSUTigers: Once you are an alumnus, how will you stay connected with TSU?
A: I will stay supportive of my sports team and up lift those guys I’m still cool with.

TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?
A: I did not know about the rich history of TSU.

TSU Tigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?
A: I learned that going against the grain is not always a bad thing.

TSUTigers: Is there anything else that you would like to say to the TSU family?
A: I have grown to love everyone and hope that love runs deep.
