Football Preps for Friday’s Golf Tournament

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State football team is set to host the seventh annual “Tee Off with the Tigers” golf tournament on Friday, May 20 at Ted Rhodes Golf Course.

The annual fundraiser is an event that brings Tiger supporters, TSU alumni and members of the community together for a chance to support the football program.

“We’re expecting a big turnout,” said head coach Rod Reed. “This has been one of our bigger fundraisers since we started seven years ago. We just want guys to come out and have some fun, play a little golf and support the Big Blue.”

During the tournament, participants will have an opportunity to walk a way with a brand new car as a prize for connecting a hole-in-one at a certain hole.

There will also be a silent auction, door prizes, raffles and lunch following the 18-hole round.

Additionally, Nashville Sports Radio’s (WNSR 560 AM and 95.5 FM), The Bill King Show and the Greg Pogue and Big Joe Show, will broadcast live on location from the golf course.

More than 25 teams are already set to participate in the tournament but registration is still open. For team information or for sponsorship opportunities contact Natasha Plant at (615) 963-7562 or nplant@tnstate.edu.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be provided.
