NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State spring football season comes to end on Saturday with the annual Blue-White game. The contest pitting offense versus defense will begin at 3:00pm in Hale Stadium. Admission and parking is free and open to the public.
The day will consist of a full day of festivities beginning with the Big Blue Tiger 5K Run/Walk around and through the TSU campus at 8:00am. The Legends Game featuring former TSU greats will kick-off at 1:00pm in “the Hole”.
The spring game will consist of a unique scoring system allowing the defense to record points with sacks, turnovers and drive stoppages, as well as scores off turnovers. The Big Blue will play four quarters with traditional clock rules in the final two minutes of each half.
The controlled scrimmage will be the last action together before the team returns to open camp in August. The Tigers are looking to bounce back from a 4-6 season and a 1-6 finish in Ohio Valley Conference play.
TSU returns 66 student-athletes from the 2015 campaign, including OVC selections O’Shay Ackerman-Carter (R-Fr., QB), Jessamen Dunker (Jr., OL), Ebo Ogundeko (R-So., DE) and Patrick Smith (R-So., WR).
