Saunders to Play in NFLPA Bowl, Fitzpatrick Out

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State cornerback De’Ante Saunders will be the lone Tiger to play in the 2015 NFL Players Association (NFLPA) Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 17.

Daniel Fitzpatrick, who originally committed to the game dropped out this week for personal reasons.

Saunders was named First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference while leading the league with five interceptions on the season while also tallying 51 tackles and six pass breakups.

The senior’s five picks were the seventh-most by a Tiger in TSU’s 102-year history.

The DeLand, Fla. will be one of the talented draft-eligible seniors competing in the all-star game on Saturday, January 17 at StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be televised live on ESPN2.
