NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State senior Ryan Mitchell was named FCS Wide Receiver of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) for his role in the Tigers’, 48-33, win at Murray State on Saturday.
Mitchell caught a game-high 10 passes in the big win and set a new career-best with 231 yards receiving. The wideout also caught half of Mike German’s six touchdown passes on the day.
Mitchell’s 231 yards were the most yards from scrimmage for any TSU non-quarterback this season.
The Johnson City, Tenn. native finished 2014 with 44 receptions for 748 yards and five touchdowns.
