Tennessee State head football coach Rod Reed will mark the halfway point of football camp when he puts the Tigers through a full scrimmage on Saturday, August 21st scheduled for 6:15p on the turf of Hale Stadium.
Beginning at 5:00p, Coach Reed will have the team available for a public “Get to Know the Tigers” fan appreciation event. The public will be able to meet the 2010 Tiger team up close and personal, take photographs and receive signed poster schedules. TSU paraphernalia will also be available.
“This will be the only full scrimmage we will have in this year’s camp,” says Reed. “They have been working real hard these last two weeks, and we want to see where we stack up in our positions.” The scrimmage will also include OVC officials who are also in training for the upcoming season.
HEAT CHANGES PRACTICE SCHEDULES
During the first two weeks of camp the coaching staff has had to modify one-a-day practices for the safety of the players. “The high heat indexes forced us to move some practice session to the evenings,” said Reed. “But since the heat conditions have relented somewhat, we will move back to our 3-5:30p practice schedule unless the heat index goes over 102 again.”
