JMC Game Set For Broadcast on Sirius/XM Radio

The Tennessee State John Merritt Classic (JMC) game on September 5, 2009 against Alabama A&M from LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee, will be broadcast on the Sirius/XM radio network.

The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN.COM), based in Delaware, will cover the JMC as their second game of national coverage of fifteen (15) HBCU “Games of the Week.”

“We are truly excited to have our game coverage expanded on these national networks”, says Tennessee State Athletic Director, Teresa Phillips. “This exposure will not only be a boon to our national fan base, but will be an opportunity for all football fans to share in the John Merritt Classic”.

The 2009 JMC will honor the 1982 Tennessee State football team that finished their regular season undefeated, 9-0-1, and advanced to the Semi-finals of the NCAA I-AA (now FCS) Play-offs.

The John Merritt Classic will also be carried live on the Big Blue Radio Network and OVCSports.TV. "Live Stats" will also be available on

HSRN coverage begins at 5:00p and kick-off is set for 6:00p (ct) on Saturday, September 5, 2009.
