Tennessee State University defensive back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was awarded the Under Armour New Prototype Award for his play in the 2008 Under Armour Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, January 26, 2008.

“DRC” finished the game with four solo tackles, one interception and one pass break-up in the game and was the top defensive performer for the South team which won 17-16 on the last play of the game. DRC also had one kickoff return for no gain.

The Under Armour New Prototype Award that DRC won was basically an MVP award for the South team.

By all reports, “DRC” had a great week at the Senior Bowl practice, creating a lot of buzz and really helped himself in the upcoming NFL draft.

"DRC", a concensus FCS All-American, was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Black College Sports Page and was named to the 2007 SBN Sports Black College All-American (BCAA) Team. The SBN Black College All-American Awards Weekend will take place February 15-16 in Atlanta, GA.
