NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University will begin the 2005 Football season and John Merritt Classic by honoring its 13 seniors on Friday, August 26th. The Kickoff Luncheon will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel beginning at 11 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Seating for the event begins at 10:30 a.m. The 10th annual luncheon will also feature first-year head coach James Webster and his Tiger coaching staff. "I've heard a lot about this event and am certainly looking forward to it," said Webster. "Our seniors are going to be looked upon to provide leadership for our team and this is a great way to have them recognized." The Tigers are looking to "Restore the Roar" under the guidance of their new coach. The team is hard at work preparing for the campaign which kicks off September 3 in the 7th Annual John A. Merritt Classic pitting the Tigers against the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M University. All of Middle Tennessee is invited to come and support TSU football by attending the Kickoff Luncheon and the Classic. Table sponsorships for the luncheon are available at three package levels. Gold level, for $250, includes four luncheon seats. Diamond level, for $1,250, includes twenty seats, five season football tickets and two season parking passes. The platinum level provides 40 luncheon seats, ten season football tickets and five season parking passes for only $2,000.
