TIGER FOOTBALL PRACTICE BEGINS MONDAY
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University first-year head football coach James Webster and his staff will welcome 90 players to campus Sunday evening to begin preparations for the 2005 season. The incoming Tiger freshmen will report by 3 p.m. for physicals while the upper classmen physicals begin at 4 p.m. The team will have meetings later in the evening. After equipment is issued and group meetings in the morning, the first team practice will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 6:20 p.m. "We are all excited to welcome the players and get started," said Webster. "We have been busy and I am looking forward to finally getting on the field." The Tigers will work out primarily in the afternoon and have a number of limited two-a-day practices, in accordance to NCAA regulations. The team take team photos Tuesday morning and have a "Meet the Tigers Day" from 4:15-4:45 August 13. Classes begin at the university on Monday, August 29, the week of the Tigers season opener against Alabama A&M in the John Merritt Classic.
