Defensive Back Jamar Landrom joins the Super Bowl Champions Defensive back Jamar Landrom signed a free agent contract with the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Landrom(6-3,215) led the Tigers this year with 91 total tackles and four sacks. He will be looked at as a strong safety by the the Pittsburgh Steelers. Landrom said "That's(strong safety) basically what I played this past year, I was just up in the box. Landrom played two years at the University of Toledo before coming to TSU in 2003. Landrom also received interest from the Colts,Giants and Jaguars but he chose the Champs. "I feel like my chances are better with the Steelers," he said. Our own defensive back coach Randy Fuller played three seasons with Pittsburgh and appeared In Super Bowl XXX. Also,Landrom's former high school coach, Bruce McNorton, is now a scout for the Steelers. Landrom will report Pittsburgh's mini-camp on May 12.
