NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State junior Jamar Landrom has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his effort in the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis. Landrom was one of the few bright sports for the Tigers in their defeat to South Carolina State on Saturday evening. Landrom recorded 15 solo tackles and three assisted stops from his safety position. He also forced two fumbles, making one recovery that set up a third quarter touchdown for the Tigers. The 6-3, 215-pound Landrom is from Pontiac, Mich., and is in his first season with the Tigers after transferring from Toledo. The Tigers will have an open week before returning to action on Oct. 16 at defending OVC champion Jacksonville State.
