TWO-A-DAYS BEGIN FOR TIGERSWITH INTENSE MORNING PRACTICE
NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State began two-a-days Saturday and head coach James Reese said he was pleased with the intensity and the competitiveness his players displayed during the session which got underway at 7:15 a.m. ?We added a blitz period and I was very happy with what I saw,? said Reese. ?The guys are competing well and hopefully this will carry us through.? Reese said that the defense did have one notable absence in returning All-Ohio Valley Conference cornerback Scott Cunningham. Cunningham was given the day off as he received his bachelor's degree at TSU's summer commencement ceremonies Saturday. Cunningham will enroll in graduate school as he completes his eligibility this fall. In addition, Kent State transfer Phillip Johnson left the team Saturday. Johnson was redshirt freshman at the Ohio school last season. The Tigers will have a single practice session Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:30.
