NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State junior running back Charles Anthony has been named as a first-team selection to The Sports Network Division I-AA Football team that was announced Monday afternoon. Anthony, who finished fifth in this year's Walter Payton Award Balloting, led the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing and all-purpose yardage this past season. He finished the season with 1,708 yards rushing and averaged 172.5 yards a game in all-purpose yardage. "Charles had an outstanding season and is very deserving of this honor," said TSU Head Coach James Reese. "It is an outstanding honor for him and Tennessee State." Anthony, from Orlando, Fla., rushed for more than 100 yards in 11 of the 12 TSU games. He scored 13 rushing TD's in making first-team All-OVC. He added 29 pass receptions for 362 yards and a pair of TD's. He became TSU's all-time leading rusher and has more than 3,000 yards rushing as he will enter his senior season next year. Other all-star teams will be announced during the month of December.
