Strength and Conditioning Coach
Matt Grimm joined the strength and conditioning staff at Tennessee State University in 2017.
He primarily works with football, women’s basketball and softball.
Grimm, who also serves as an exercise science/health and wellness professor at Trevecca Nazarene, came to TSU after spending one year as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Vanderbilt University. During his stint with VU, he trained the men’s basketball team and individual athletes to increase performance.
He is the owner of Matt Grimm Performance, LLC, Grimm, an athletic performance and personal training business and spent time as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Nashville Soccer Club and Trevecca Nazarene.
Grimm served as a volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach at Lipscomb University and worked in the personal training/strength and conditioning private sector for three years.
As an undergrad, Grimm worked closely with University of Louisiana-Lafayette’s men’s basketball and strength and conditioning staffs.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, he graduated from University of Louisiana- Lafayette with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences in 2015. Matt is engaged to Jazmin Rose Mercer.
