Strength & Conditioning Intern
James Driscoll joined the strength and conditioning staff at Tennessee State University in August 2016.
Driscoll has more than 14 years of experience in the areas of fitness, health and wellness and strength training.
Since 1997, he has been a personal trainer, wellness specialist and fitness instructor at YMCA Nashville.
He spent a year at Vanderbilt as a strength and conditioning coach where he provided guidance and instruction to student-athletes on proper training techniques in free weights. During the internship, he provided expertise in the area of strength and conditioning for the various sports on campus.
Driscoll previously served an internship with TSU Strength and Conditioning in 2011-12. Additionally, he was a Speed and Strength Coach with D1 Sports Training/Therapy following a two-year stint at Metro General Hospital Center for Lifestyle and Health Management as an exercise trainer and lifestyle coach.
From 2006-10, he was a Fitness Ministry Leader at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he developed exercise programs for the members. He also spent time at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital and Gold’s Gym.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, James graduated from Tennessee State with a bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Sport Science. He also has a master’s degree in Exercise Science. He and his wife LaTosha have two daughters, Joy and Reese.
