Assistant AD for Academic Services
Jeremy Perrywas named the Assistant AD for Academic Services at Tennessee State University in August 2017.
He previously served as an Academic Advisor in the department of athletics since September 2014.
In addition to a number of duties, Perry is responsible for providing academic services for TSU sports programs while monitoring academic progress, eligibility status, maintaining daily schedules and monitoring enrollment records.
Perry came to TSU from Hillsboro High School where he served as a Broadcast Instructor. He worked closely with the students and constructed curriculum maps that outlined state learning objectives. During his stint, he also corresponded with the White House Film Festival committee for the Future of Technology Film contest.
Prior to working at Hillsboro, Perry interned with TBH Global Asset Management in the Sports and Entertainment division. While with the management company, he had the opportunity to work hands-on with NFL athletes concerning expense budgets and post-career endeavors.
A former student-athlete, Perry was a two-year captain of the Tennessee State football team (2010-11).
Perry, a native of Memphis, Tenn., graduated from Tennessee State with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication: Radio and Television Production prior to earning a Master’s of Education in Sports Administration in 2012.
He is the Founder and Executive Director of the non-profit organization Athletes Can Think Too and is married to former Lady Tiger basketball player Dr. Meredith Stafford.
