Anthony Blevins entered as the defensive backs coach for Tennessee State University Football in early 2009 after spending one year at UT Martin as the cornerbacks coach. His primary duties will consist of coaching the cornerback position and coordinating the special teams unit.

During the summer of 2008, he was part of the NFL Minority Summer Coaching Internship with the Chicago Bears.

From 2005-2007, he served as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State. He coached the wide receivers and defensive backs for the Bulldogs while working in all aspects of special teams play.

He served as the defensive secondary coach and team community liaison at Meadowcreek High School in Atlanta, Ga. in 2003 and 2004. In 1999, he assisted the defensive back coach at Alabama State teaching techniques and assessing player development. 

Blevins was a three-year letterwinner at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) playing cornerback for the Blazers. After the collegiate ranks, he played defensive back professionally for the Birmingham Thunderbolts (XFL) from 2000-2001, Birmingham Steeldogs (AFL2 - 2000) and Mobile Admirals (RFL-1999).

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Blevins graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Sociology from UAB. He holds a M.S. in Instructional Technology and is currently pursuing a doctorate from Mississippi State.
