Tigers Drop 0-2 in Three Day Homestand

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 OVC loss to Austin Peay State at the TSU Tennis Complex Friday afternoon. The team moves 0-8 overall and carries an 0-5 mark in the OVC.

The Governors now post a 3-13 mark picking up their first conference win of the season going 1-4 in OVC action.

The men's team could not recover from a tough loss the day before dropping seven sets by the score 6-0. The Tigers gave up the fifth game, retiring 5-0, and defaulted on the sixth-seed match-up. Early on in doubles play, Justin Hamm and Aaron Fields won two games but fell 8-2 to Lucas DeBrito and Leonardo Locatelli.

The Tigers will finish a three-game homestand in consecutive days when they face-off against Eastern Illinois in conference play on Saturday, April 4th. Match time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

EIU's men are 9-8 overall, 2-3 in the OVC while their women hold an overall record of 6-10, 2-3 in the OVC.

The Panthers are on a two-game win streak including a 5-2 win over UT Martin (3/29). Vuk Milicevic and Drew Grimaldi lead EIU 52-50 (.510) sinlges play. Milicevic carries a 11-6 rcord and Grimaldi rounds out at 10-7.

In the doubles, the team of Milicevic and Jordan Nestrud (12-1) power the team's 26-22 (.542) doubles-competition record.

The Tigers will host Western Kentucky on April 8 at 3 p.m. TSU fell to the Hilltoppers earlier this season, 7-0, on March 20th.
