GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will play its second game in three days when the Lady Tigers make the trip to Cookeville to face OVC foe Tennessee Tech on Monday, Jan. 7. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in the Eblen Center. 

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State (5-8, 1-1 OVC) is coming off a convincing, 88-68, conference win over Jacksonville State on Saturday. The 88 points was a season-high and the most points TSU has scored since posting 90 against UT Martin last season.

Tennessee State's three top leading scorers are Kesi Hess (9.8 ppg), Jasmin Shuler (9.6 ppg) and Simone Hopes (8.8 ppg). Hopes also leads the Lady Tigers in rebounding with 6.7 rebounds per outing.

As a team, TSU is averaging 56.8 points per outing while shooting 35.8 percent from the field and 27.7 percent from beyond the arc. TSU is currently shooting only 67.2 percent from the free-throw line while committing an average of 18.3 turnovers per game.

TSU averages 35.3 rebounds, 9.9 assists and 10.0 steals per game. The Lady Tigers are under first year head coach Larry Joe Inman.

LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee State played its most complete game of the season and came away with an 88-68 victory over Jacksonville State on the road Saturday afternoon. Four players scored in double-digits led by Kesi Hess' 22 points. Hess knocked down six three-pointers in the contest. Destiney Gaston came off the bench to score 18 while Jasmin Shuler added 16. Chelsea Hudson nearly recorded a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds. TSU shot 53.4 percent from the field and had 15 steals in the game.

ABOUT TENNESSEE TECH
Tennessee Tech (8-7, 2-0) has won three of its last four, including its most recent victory over Belmont, 58-52, on Saturday. The Golden Eagles also has an OVC win over Jacksonville State.

The win over BU, moved TTU into first place of the East Division. Diamond Henderson led the Golden Eagles with 17 points while T'Keyah Williams (13) and Jala Harris (12) also scored double-figures in the victory.

As a team, Tennessee Tech averages 63.6 points per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three-point range. TTU shoots 71.2 percent from the free-throw line and pulls down 35.8 rebounds per game. The Golden Eagles also register 11.6 assists per game.

Henderson and Harris are Tennessee Tech's two leading scorers.

TSU vs. TENNESSEE TECH
Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech will meet for the 57th time in the series history, with TTU leading, 46-10.  Tech has won five straight over TSU. The Golden Eagles swept the series last season by defeating the Lady Tigers 80-71 in the Eblen Center and 78-66 in the Gentry Center. TSU's last win against TTU, was a, 65-62, win in the Eblen Center (1/12/10).

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
TSU will have a week off before returning to action at home against Southeast Missouri on Monday, Jan. 14. Then the Lady Tigers will travel across town to face Belmont on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Curb Event Center.
