After nearly two weeks off, the Tennessee State
University women's basketball team will get to return to the court to face
Cleveland State in non-conference action. The Lady Tigers will host the Vikings
on Sunday, December 16 at 2 p.m. in the Gentry Center.

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
The Lady Tigers have dropped their last two
contests and with a 3-5 record, TSU will look to get back on track against
Cleveland State. TSU is 1-1 at home this season with a win over Cumberland and
a loss to Kansas State. The Lady Tigers' most recent loss came to Big Sky
member Montana State, 65-55.
The game was a part of a three-game road swing
that included match-ups with Idaho and Montana at the Lady Griz Classic. TSU went
1-1 at the tournament while Kesi Hess and Simone Hopes were named to the
All-Tournament team.
As a team, TSU is averaging 53.9 points per
outing while shooting 34.4 percent from the field and 26.0 percent from beyond
the arc. TSU is currently shooting only 65.9 percent from the free-throw line
while committing an average of 18.1 turnovers per game.
TSU averages 37.2 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 9.3
steals per game.
LAST TIME OUT
TSU dropped a hard-fought contest to Montana
State, 65-55, on the road. The Lady Tigers led, 29-28, at halftime and were
tied with the Bobcats with about seven minutes left in the game before MSU used
a run to pull away down the stretch. Jasmin Shuler knocked down five triples in
the contest and led TSU with 15 points while Simone Hopes added 12 points and
eight boards.
ABOUT CLEVELAND STATE
Cleveland State is coming off an 87-75 win over
Miami (OH). The Vikings have now won
three straight with wins over VCU and Indiana. The Horizon League member opened
the season with a win over South Dakota before dropping four straight. With
this latest winning streak, CSU has moved to .500 (4-4).
In the win over Miami, five players scored in
double-digits for Cleveland State. Shalonda Winton led the Vikings with 29
points and 14 rebounds for a double-double while Kiersten Green followed with
17. Cori Coleman and Honesty King each added 15 as Haley Schmitt chipped in 11.
As a team, Cleveland State averages 69.2 ppg
behind a .414 shooting percentage. The Vikings are shooting, .325 from
three-point range and average 18.1 turnovers per game.
Winton leads CSU with 24.1 ppg and 11.0 rpg.
Coleman averages 12.3 ppg while Green rounds out the top three scorers with
10.4 ppg.
TSU vs. CLEVELAND STATE
Tennessee State and Cleveland State will meet for
only the second time in the program's history. TSU trails the series, 1-0. In
the last meeting, the Vikings defeated the Lady Tigers 74-56 in Cleveland,
Ohio.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
TSU will return to action on Tuesday, Dec.18 when
the Lady Tigers travel across town to face Lipscomb in non-conference action.
The Lady Tigers will officially kick off the Ohio Valley Conference season on
December 29 against Eastern Illinois.
