MORGANTOWN, N.C. - The men's golf started strong at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State University, but was slowed down by rain. Only to fall off the pace when second round play resumed. TSU ended the day 29 shots behind new leader James Madison.

Andrew Warner led the Tigers through the first 18-holes with a 1-under 69. Warner bogied the third hole, but bounced back with par-play and birdies on five, twelve and the par-3 17th. The junior could not escape the 18th hole and finished with a bogey placing him in a tie for 6th, one shot behind a group of five golfers, after the first round. Warner struggled in the later round and has fallen to 7-over through 32.

The Tigers started on the 10th hole in the afternoon and the back-nine got the better of Hill to open round two. The sophomore began with a double bogey on ten and recorded bogies on five of the last six holes. Hill birdied the second-to-last hole of the day and enters Tuesday at 9-over.

Codie Welborn scored for TSU during an up and down first round with a 6-over 76. Welborn shot over par on seven holes, but was able to pick up birdies on the 4th, 10th and 18th. The junior dropped birdies on 12 and 14 to start the later session on a good note, but came back to par play for the round with a double bogey on 15. Through 32 holes, Welborn is 8-over par.
