The Tennessee State University men's and women's cross country teams conclude the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Front Runner Invitational hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
The women's two-mile race will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the men's 5K at 3 p.m. at the Moccasin Bend Race Course in Chattanooga. This race will be the final prep for the squad, which will compete at the OVC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29 in Richmond, Ky.
Running this weekend will be men' and women's teams from UTC, UT Martin, Middle Tennessee and Trevecca Nazarene.
Saturday marks the second time this season that TSU has visited Chattanooga. The Flying Tigers and Tigerbelles opened the 2011 campaign at the Power Ade Invitational.
TSU is coming off a strong performance at Kentucky State's Thorobred Stampede. The men placed second, while the women were third in team points.
Senior Chris Hobbs, who has clocked three top times this season, led the Tigers with a time of 31:44.70 for fourth overall in last weekend's 8K at the Thorobred Stampede. Junior Jonathan Owens placed seventh with his time of 32:42.70.
For the Tigerbelles, Tiffany Harris earned another top finish with her time of 20:45.55 in the women's 5K at the Thorobred Stampede. Sophomore Charita Harris followed in eighth with a time of 20:59.57.
