Robert Covington's best game came against Southeast Missouri State when he posted a double-double with career-highs in scoring (27) and rebounds (16).

Nashville, Tenn. - The Ohio Valley Conference named Tennessee State University men's basketball forward Robert Covington Freshman of the Week after scoring in double figures last Thursday (2/25) and Saturday (2/27).

On the last week of the regular season, Covington wins the award for the second time after being named OVC Freshman of the Week after the season opener.

He helped TSU to close out the season on the road at 1-1. The Tigers picked up a 74-67 win over Southeast Missouri State before dropping a close battle to Eastern Illinois, 66-61.

The Bellwood, Ill. native averaged 22.5 ppg last week shooting 12-of-25 (.480) from the field, 16-of-17 from free-throw line while connecting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Defensively, he registered three blocks on the week and 24 rebounds.

Covington's best game came against Southeast Missouri State when he posted a double-double with career-highs in scoring (27) and rebounds (16). He was a perfect 13-of-13 from the free-throw line and 2-of-2 from three-point range. He also had two blocks and a steal. The win over SEMO secured TSU an eighth seed in the 2010 OVC Basketball Tournament.
