Tigers and Tigerbelles Head to Memphis on Saturday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As cross country heads towards the mid-season mark they hope to hit their stride traveling to Memphis for the Rhodes Invitational Saturday.
The Tigerbelles are coming off a solid performance in their first home dual meet with Alabama A&M. TSU boasted the top finisher sophomore Oteia Prince (13:23.59) and the fourth best finisher in Diera Taylor (14:17.09) on the 2.1 mile campus course.
Tennessee State’s men’s team returns to action after a one week break. TSU last ran on Sept. 14 in the Commodore Classic.  Where The Tigers competed in an 8K for the first time this season and was led by Quamel Prince in a time of 28:44.27. Adrian McDaniels was the second to cross the line at 29:58.96 and was joined in the scoring by Jahleel Michael (33:24.32), Theodore Nicholson (34:40.51) and Jason Griffin (35:53.65). Jakeenan Guthrie (36:00.44), Jalon McCutcheon (36:57.09) and Emmanual Thornton (38:25.10) rounded out the Tigers lineup.
Saturday’s meet will feature 28 schools. With the meet slated to begin at 10 a.m. at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tenn.
