27 Shea Morris

As a Junior: Morris appeared in an Ohio Valley Conference best 45 games… finished with a 10-13 record along with a shutout and a part of two others, while working in 166.1 innings… earned five saves, finishing tied for the eighth most in the country… struck out 144 batters, good for sixth in the OVC and 112th in the nation… was named OVC and Tennessee Sports Writers Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 10 as she completed a 3-0 week with three saves, a 0.00 ERA, held opponents to a .099 batting average and struck out 29 in 19.2 innings of work… was named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament team… fanned a season high 10 batters versus Lipscomb (2/8)… struck out five batters in five innings against #5 Arizona State… tossed a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts in a five inning game on Mar. 9 versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff… threw a three-hitter allowing one run in a victory over Middle Tennessee (3/2)… pitched a three-hitter with no earned runs, defeating Temple (3/4)… became the TSU career strikeout leader on Mar. 1 and was the first Tigers to reach 500 (4/9)… took over the top spot in six pitching categories in the TSU record books… recorded her first career hit and multi-hit game at Georgia Southern (2/28)… notched first career RBI at home against Holy Cross (3/4)… first extra base came at Southeast Missouri State (4/6) in the form of a double

As a Sophomore:
Morris pitched in 183.1 innings and appeared in 35 games… had 22 complete games in 28 starts… struck out 195 batters, marking the second most in a season at TSU, and fourth highest in the Ohio Valley Conference… finished 10-18 with four shutouts, two saves and a 3.17 ERA… named OVC Pitcher of the Week (3/4) after posting a 3-0 record and a 0.37 ERA; held opponents to a .134 batting average while fanning 27 batters in 19 innings… was honored as the OVC and Tennessee Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Week (4/22) for going 3-0 with a win at Murray State and two complete game shutout wins against Austin Peay… threw a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts against APSU on 4/21… followed up with six hit shutout with seven punch outs in game two against APSU (4/21)… recorded a career high 12 strikeouts versus Howard (3/1) in a five-hit shutout… threw a one-hitter with nine K’s versus Hampton (3/3)… pitched a six-inning two-hit, 11 strikeout, shutout at home versus Alabama State (3/12)… notched 11 strikeouts in an eight-inning win versus Mississippi Valley State (3/10)… secured saves at Florida A&M (3/14) and in game two against Morehead State (3/30)

As a Freshman:
Morris appeared in 38 games with 31 starts in 201 2/3 innings pitched ... recorded 22 complete games including two shutouts leading to a 3.61 ERA ... finished second in the conference with 190 strikeouts ... named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team to become the fifth Tigers in school history to achieve the honor and the first since 2007 ...  was named OVC Pitcher of the Week on March 26th as she finished the week with a 3-1 record and allowed just one earned run in her four appearances for a 0.30 ERA. She held opponents to a .174 batting average and notched 28 strikeouts opposed to four walks in 23.1 innings ... picked up the first win of her collegiate career at South Carolina  ... struck out a career best 10 vs. Campbell while giving up one run on three hits (3/2) ... threw a complete game, four hit shutout with eight strikeouts vs. Austin Peay. Came back in game two and picked up the win pitching 2 1/3 innings or no run, one hit ball (3/21) ... pitched nine innings giving up zero earned runs vs. Jacksonville State (4/12) ... had a complete game, one hit shutout with seven strike outs for her 10th win of the season vs. Alabama A&M. Came back in game two and pitched two perfect innings, striking out all six batters she faced to pick up her 11th win (5/2)

At Lawrence County HS: During senior year, compiled a 23-5 record with a 1.19 ERA and 294 strikeouts... Named district Pitcher of the Year in 2011... An All-District selection in junior and senior seasons... A member of the MTSCA All-Star team... Collected 47 wins and 674 strikeouts over career
