NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After a lengthy mid-season break the Tigers and Tigerbelles were back in action on Saturday afternoon at the Front Runner Invitational, hosted by the University of Chattanooga, and posted their best times of the season.
Junior Oteia Prince finished the highest out of the entire cross contry team, finishing the two mile women’s course in 28th place. Prince crossed the line with a time of 12:14.73.
Diera Taylor finished second for the Tigerbelles with a time of 13:37.47 followed by Jasmine Owens (13:44.98), Breanna Adams (13:53.42) and Michelle Bradley (14:11.07). India Smith (14:34.33) and Ashontee Jackson (14:54.00) rounded out the Tigerbelles scorers.
The men’s team was led by freshman Quamel Prince who finished the 5k course in 16:59.02 earning a 45th place finish. Following behind Prince was junior Theordore Nicholson with a time of 17:11.60.
Adrian McDaniel was the third Tiger to cross the tape for the men’s team, finishing with a mark of 17:41.98. Rounding out the scoring times for the Tigers were Jalon McCutcheon (18:28.34), Jahleel Michael (18:36.02), Jason Griffin (20:26.94) and Jakeenan Gutherie (20:28.07).
Each team placed 15th in their respective races in the Front Runner Invitational.
The Tigers and Tigerbelles will finish their seasons at the OVC Championships Nov. 2 at Morehead, Ky.
