GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a crucial Ohio Valley Conference match-up against Southeast Missouri. The Lady Tigers will play their fourth game in about a week when they hit the road to face SEMO. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Gentry Center.

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State (8-15, 4-7 OVC) has dropped three out of its last four, including two straight. The Lady Tigers are recently coming off a, 73-66, loss to Eastern Kentucky at home. TSU has a 4-7 OVC mark and sits in eighth place in the standings. With a 2-9 road mark this season, the Lady Tigers will look to add one to the win column against Southeast Missouri.    

As a team, TSU is averaging 70.1 points per outing while shooting 37.5 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from beyond the arc. TSU is currently shooting only 65.9 percent from the free-throw line while committing an average of 18.8 turnovers per game.

TSU averages 43.7 rebounds, 13.3 assists and 8.1 steals per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee State suffered a disappointing, 73-66, home loss to Eastern Kentucky Wednesday night in the Gentry Center. Kim Haynes led TSU with 19 points while Simone Hopes came off the bench to score 16. Rachel Allen also posted double-figures with 12 points and Chelsea Hudson followed with 10. Jasmin Shuler was held to only three points in the loss.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Southeast Missouri (5-18, 2-8 OVC) is coming off a, 74-48, loss to Eastern Illinois on Wednesday. Prior to the game vs. EIU the Redhawks had dropped five straight before snapping the skid with a, 69-60, win over Austin Peay.

In SEMO's most recent loss to EIU, Courtney Shiffer led the team with 13 points. Bailie Roberts had 11 points and eight rebounds while Brittany Harriel also notched 11.

Overall, the Redhawks average 51.3 points per game behind a .333 field goal percentage (.213 three-point range). Bailie Roberts (9.9 ppg) leads the team in scoring while Brittany Harriel (9.3 ppg) and Karley Evans (7.0 ppg) round out the top three scorers for SEMO.

TSU vs. SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
Tennessee State and Southeast Missouri will meet for the 42nd time in the series history and the first time this season. The teams split the series last campaign as both teams recorded wins on their home floors. The Redhawks have a, 23-18, series advantage.

LAST TIME THEY MET
The Tennessee State University women's basketball team won its second straight after defeating Southeast Missouri Thursday night in the Gentry Center.

Tennessee State moved one step closer to the OVC tournament by knocking off Southeast Missouri.

Sophomore Destiney Gaston led TSU with 14 points and four blocks while sophomore Denisha Mumford came off the bench to score a career-best 13 points. Mumford was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including 3-for-3 from three-point range. Meredith Stafford finished the game with 10 points and four steals. Jasmine Shuler dished out a game-high five assists.

Alana Morris pulled down a game-high nine rebounds and dished out four assists for the Lady Tigers.

The Redhawks were led by Brittany Harriel's 12 points and eight rebounds.

TEAM LEADERS
Jasmin Shuler leads TSU in scoring with 15.3 ppg while Tayla Foster (10.8 ppg) and Destiney Gaston (7.7 ppg) round out the top three scorers for the Lady Tigers. Foster is pulling down a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game while Chelsea Hudson averages 4.6 caroms per outing. Rachel Allen leads the team in assists while Gaston also paces TSU with 29 blocks.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Lady Tigers will remain on the road with a contest at Murray State on Feb. 6. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in the CFSB Center.
