Nashville ---  Tennessee State University women's basketball player Tayla Foster was voted the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for her performance last week.

This honor marks the first time that a Lady Tiger has received an OVC award this season. The last time that a TSU player was named the OVC Freshman of the Week was in the 2006-07 season.

Foster extended her double-digit scoring streak to seven straight games last week. She averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15-of-28).

The Madisonville, Ky. native recorded a season-high 25 points to go with eight rebounds and one steal against UT Martin. She knocked down 10-of-17 from the field and finished the game with three triples.

Earlier in the week, she finished with 12 points against Murray State, including hitting a crucial shot with 21 seconds left to help the Lady Tigers get the win.

Foster has recorded four 20-plus point games this season and has scored in double-digits in 14 games.
