The Tennessee State University women's basketball
team will participate in its second tournament in as many weeks when the Lady
Tigers travel to Missoula, Montana for the Lady Griz Classic, Nov. 30 - Dec. 1.
TSU will face Idaho on day one of the tournament before matching up with host
Montana on Saturday. Both games are
scheduled for 7 p.m. (MT) tip-offs.

tournament.
THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
The Lady Tigers snapped a three-game losing
streak by defeating Samford, 57-40, on the road at the Samford Thanksgiving
Classic last Saturday. TSU finished the tournament 1-1, after dropping a
contest to UAB, 68-60, on the opening day.
TSU has an overall record of 2-3 and is led in scoring by Avery Jones
(8.3 ppg), Simone Hopes (7.8 ppg) and Kesi Hess (7.8 ppg). Hopes pulls down a
team-best 7.8 rebounds per game.
As a team, TSU is averaging 51.8 points per outing while shooting 33.8 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc. TSU is currently shooting only 64.7 percent from the free-throw line while committing an average of 20.2 turnovers per game.
TSU averages 38.4 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 10.4 steals per game.
ABOUT IDAHO
Idaho picked up its first win of the season
against Eastern Washington on Tuesday after opening the 2012-13 campaign, 0-4.
The Vandals clipped Eastern, 68-66, at home to move to 1-4.
All-WAC preseason selection Alyssa Charlston led the Vandals with 29 points in the win while Christina Salvatore chipped in 11. Ali Forde pulled down a game-best 12 rebounds.
Charlston paces the Vandal offense with 14.6 ppg followed by Salvatore's 9.6 points per outing. Forde averages 7.4 boards per game.
Idaho is shooting 31.8 percent from the field and posts an average of 58.4 points per contest.
ABOUT MONTANA
Montana opened the season with a loss before
winning three straight. The Lady Griz recently dropped a contest to Villanova
and now sit at 3-2. Montana could not shake off a slow start against Villanova
and fell, 74-49, in Las Vegas.
Torry Hill led all scorers with nine points while Kenzie De Boer added eight in the loss.
Do Boer is the team's leading scorer with 12.2 points per game. Katie Baker (9.6 ppg) and Hill (9.2 ppg) round out the top three scorers for the Lady Griz.
As a team, Montana averages 61.0 ppg behind a .375 shooting percentage.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Tennessee State will continue on to Montana State
for a match-up on Dec. 3. TSU will then have a nearly a two week break before
hosting Cleveland State on Dec. 16 in the Gentry Center.
